Grant Price- Director of Operations for Rise and Shine Restaurant Group (R&SRG)

Growing up in a small town in Arkansas with a population of about 6000, William “Grant” Price had a knack for travel and a passion for adventure. Venturing out into the world, he decided to become a flight attendant with United Airlines in 2007. After being based in Chicago and bearing the brutality of the cold winters, he decided it was time to move to a warmer and much nicer climate. Where better than San Diego?!

Leaving the free-spirited traveling to the past, Grant adventured into the restaurant industry working for PF Chang’s in Temecula, CA. Shortly after employment he was asked to be a corporate server trainer and transferred to their La Jolla location. After working with P.F. Chang’s La Jolla for a little over a year, Grant received a social media marketing email about a new restaurant opening up in his neighborhood. A sparked interest brought him to the new restaurant location where he introduced himself to Johan Engman, one of the owners. Shortly thereafter, Grant started his employment at Fig Tree Cafe Hillcrest and a one-of-a-kind relationship was born.

As part of the Fig Tree team, Grant became a member of R&SRG in 2011. As the Fig Tree Café Hillcrest General Manager, he managed a staff with duties ranging from customer service to full control of the operation. Grant provided daily administrative support for the company and was instrumental in implementing workplace policies, procedures and organizing consistent infrastructure development and improvements.

Now, Grant oversees the day-to-day operations of five restaurants owned under the R&SRG. As Director of Operations, he manages a full range of administrative, analytical and operational duties in a wide variety of departments including human resources, financial organization, staff administration, information technology, and concept research and development. Grant develops and directs programs designed to meet the needs of the company, vendors, constituents, staff and appropriate district and federal laws and related initiatives.
